APPLE TURNOVER

Apple is a growing monopoly. Where there are teach savvy people, are iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks at the palms of their hands. Restaurants, schools, retail stores, etc. have incorporated apple products for productivity. Although only 42.7% of smartphone users use Apple iOS opposed to the 52% of users that use Android OS, Apple is constantly growing their monopolist tendencies and slowly convert Android and Windows users. Unlike other operating systems Apple works alone with their trademark products, whereas Android that shares with Samsung, LG, HTC, and Motorola.
I recently went shopping at Nordstrom and in their boutique section they no longer have typical registers and instead have hand held iPhones to process my purchase. Apple has created such a high demand for their products. Unlike other companies consumers will wait hours and even camp outside stores to get the latest product such as the iPhone 6. Part of Apple’s monopoly is planned obsolescence, where their products strategically have a usage life that force consumers to keep buying their latest products when the old ones no longer function properly. I believe that they are a competitive business and have successfully taken over smartphone users on the basis that they have a unique interface, are user friendly and innovative. I believe that Apple milks the money out of consumers pockets based on being the “trendy” item on the market, however I think that they are also genius for marketing a product so well. It has been proven that Apple's technology is two years behind Android functionality, however consumers still buy into the hype of the product. Their consumers want to be in the “in crowd” and this has made their business an all time success.
