How to effectively measure/evaluate your public relations efforts on behalf of your client.
Google Analytics- Using this software will allow me to analyze who my article has reached as well as who has interacted with press release such as posted to social media. This will also allow me to see bounce rate of who has view press release and immediately exited out.
Rise in demand for a product- If my press release included selling a product then an increase in sales following the press release can show my efforts have reached my audience and encouraged them to purchase. A decline or flat line can show my efforts were unsuccessful.
Feedback from audience- Those who are excited about a product or celebrity can post comments and give their feedback. This gives everyone an opportunity to reply honestly positively and negatively.
Coverage by journalists- If journalist who are contacted by me or who contact me themselves find my press release topic interesting and valid they will take interest in giving more coverage. This will make my PR efforts worthy for I will gain more publicity.
A hashtag- With instagram, twitter, and facebook my audience can use social media to #hashtag my cause, product or client. If successful the hashtag will go viral and give more free publicity, as well as give me a basis to monitor who my efforts have reached. If unsuccessful the hashtag will not be used.
